Best Mail Day Ever!

Well, yesterday was the best mail day ever! First I got two big boxes from my flickr buddy Gypsy! She sent a whole bunch of fun things for Sabrina.
And, yay for me, she sent me a whole bunch of Dark Shadows dvds that she is lending me!!! I've already watched some of it today! Wow! It's so much fun to watch!! Thanks so much Gypsy!
Then, I got two children's books that I won on Ebay that I was dying to have! That have wonderful illustrations that are so inspiring to me!
And lastly, but definitely not least, I got the May issue of Stampington Studio. What's so special about that, you might say? Well, I"M IN IT! Yay for me! I've been wanting this for so long, and a couple of months ago, when I got the invitation, I was thrilled beyond compare. This is such a big deal to me! Now I feel that if I've reached this goal, I can do anything! I will show more pix soon, but I thought I should wait till it hits the news stands. So, anyway, I want to send out a big thank you to Jenny Doh and everyone at Stampington. They did a beautiful job of photographing my art, it looked even better that I thought it would. So I can't say thank you enough!
Finally, I just thought I'd throw in a pic of some little pixie bodies waiting to come to life. Bye for now! :)

Macy's Flower show is back where it belongs!

After a couple of years of relagating the flowers to the first floor of Macy's (between shoes and perfume counters) they finally realized it was a mistake to move the flower show from the 8th floor auditorium! I had quit going, because it just wasn't the same. On the 8th floor they had the room to make a fantasy land of plants, flowers, and garden structures. The first pic is of the entrance sign, even that was beautiful!
Once you entered the main garden area the first thing you saw were these magnificent topiary flamingos! They were made using kalanchoes. Then there was this beautiful French garden with a fountain, topiaries and

huge daffodills!

Oh, and I just loved the big pink buds on this magnolia tree.
The colors were so saturated and the smell was devine!
Talk about purplicious!
Even the succulents were amazing!
It was deninitely a sight for sore eyes!
I had to take a pic of one of the chandeliers on first floor too, aren't these amazing!
It was so much fun to see a little taste of summer, just as spring is getting here! By the way, this is what I wore. A fun vintage smock apron with a blue cardigan, and my new vintage yellow straw purse. After the flower show we went to the barnes and noble next door, what a great view!
There's the hubby deep in a book.

There's me deep in some magazines. Well, bye for now, and I hope everyone had a great Easter! Will have Easter pix soon!

Pinkalicious!

Okay, for a while now, I had decided that I was burnt out on pink. I know, I know, how can anyone be burnt out on pink! But, sadly it happens. So the last thing I thought I'd be buying is something very pink! But then I saw this nifty apron at the thrift store and I just loved it!
Maybe it's because the flowers are a bit more mod than shabby chic, and I'm all about mod right now if you haven't noticed.

I also found these great dishes that were part of a relish tray, I wish I new what the pattern was. If anyone knows, please leave a comment! Plus, two more bead necklaces to be used in future projects and another vintage pattern. Yay! On a scale from 1 to 10 for successful thrift store outings, this was an 7! Bye for now!

Eggsactly!

Egg decoration time is here again, and this year we had little foamie stickers courtesy of Grandma Viv. Sabrina (seen below) loved them!
She also used some of her plain stickers to make more words.

Below is the picture that Sabrina took.

Just had to show how much I love my new vintage mug! Worked great for cocoa! Bye for now!

Odds and Ends

I took a lot of pictures this week of odds and ends, such as my latest finds at the thrift store. I found some great mod mugs for starters. 30 cents each for the little mugs and 99 cents for the big one.I did find some accessories too, such as the red, white and blue neck scarf, the yellow hair scarf, and the groovy brown wooden bead belt!Yesterday, we went to Barnes and Noble and this is what I wore. There is a sweet little vintage top under the cardigan that you will see better when it gets warmer. A good Frappuccino, but not the best I've ever had. Ice was too chunky.
My other find this week was a pair of vintage yellow pillowcases I found on Ebay. They are so
bright and sunny! I used them as shams instead, and they go great with the other shams I already had. It's really brightened up my bed! Now if the weather would just catch up! Bye for now!
