What I Wore

Since it was Memorial Day Weekend, I wanted to wear some red, white, and blue, and my new dress from H&M fit the bill perfectly. I paired it with a white tee and red belt. I wish I could have taken pix outdoors, but it was very wet outside from the rain we'd been having.

Summer is Almost Here

Here in the US, Memorial Day weekend is upon us, and it's really starting to feel and look like summer. My azalea bush has been blooming and the trees and lawn are green.

My garden is all cleaned up with a couple of new plants added this year. Sure hope they survive, as my garden needs something new!

Hope your weekend will be beautiful! Bye for now!

Robs Birthday

Last Saturday was my husbands birthday so we went to eat at the Cantina Loredo at the Mall of America. We really enjoyed it! This was one of the many new restaurants that have opened recently at MOA.

Of course, when we got home it was time to blow out the candles on his cake.

What I Wore

On Saturday we headed to the Mall of America for my hubby's birthday, because he wanted to eat at a new Mexican restaurant there called Cantina Loredo. The food was fabulous, and the weather was absolutely perfect. So I wore my new dress from H&M that I've been saving for a warm and less windy weather. Now I know that I am taking part in the MeMade Challenge, but I really wanted to wear this dress.

Falling in Love With Cactus

Recently I visited a locally run floral and plant store, Bachmans. I wanted to see if they had any cactus and succulents as I'm thinking about trying my hand. Well they had a great selection as you can see in these photos. And I thought the prices were pretty reasonable.

I am so in love with all these little cacti and was very tempted, but in the end I chickened out. I'm still afraid of killing them!

But I did get lots of inspiration, and who knows, I may just break down and go back to buy one!

Shop Update

Well I just realized how long it's been since my last shop update! So I have lots of new pins to show off.

I had to make a unicorn lapel pin of course, with a rainbow colored mane.

And a magical thinking eye in minimal black and white.

More black and white in this lovely crystal lapel pin.....

and this diamond lapel pin for the gem lovers.

They all look fabulous clustered on a denim jacket.

You can find them all in my shop right now for $10 each so please check them out!

Bye for now!

What I Wore

The roller coaster weather we've been having has brought us back to cold and windy conditions. So I pulled out the tights and jean jacket.
Skirt: made by me
Blouse: H&M
Tights: Target
Denim jacket: thrifted
Lapel pins: made by me

After painting my dining area I wasn't sure what to do with this wall, so I made little crosses out of black and white polka dot washi tape. I also took a bulletin board and painted it white, painted some tag board letters from Target black and, TaDa! My very own Diy marquee sign!

I'd love to find a plant either faux or real to place on the little table, we'll see.

Every time I make a lapel pin for my shop I end up making one for myself too. So of course, I had to add some to my jacket!

What I Wore

For Mother's Day amd the MeMade Challenge I wore two items that I made in the last couple of years. The skirt was made from vintage sheet fabric and I made the top using a vintage pattern.

Happy Mother's Day

Hope you are enjoying a lovely Mother's Day! It's been so pretty here with the crab apple trees and lilacs blooming.

I even caught a bee enjoying the sweet blooms.

For my Mother's Day we went to Stllwater, MN for some antiquing and enjoying the sights.

I also got to do a little shopping at Micheals. After a long week of painting my dining room, it was just what the doctor ordered!

Here is a pic of one of my freshly painted white walls, I love it!

Craft Time

So I've really been wanting to do a quick little craft that would add some fun to my decor, and I came up with the idea to paint some plain terra cotta pots in black and white.

I painted spots on one and a smiley face on the other. I really loved how cute and quirky they are.

And when I added a faux succulent to one, it was even cuter!

They look great sitting in my new storage unit I put together with help from my daughter.
Bye for now!
