Winter is Back

Well, just as we got used to the warm weather, when winter came back with a vengeance! Not that I was surprised, but I can't say I was happy either. But it did make for some great pictures.

But the most interesting sight was when I went to get the mail, and looked back at the front door, oh my! It looked like something out of Dr. Seuss's the Grinch.

I wouldn't want to be standing underneath that when it decides to fall down! Although, I have a feeling that my hubby will knock it down when he shovels out the walkway.

Too bad, cause I'd kind of like to see it fall, just not on somebody! Bye for now!

Just Another Winter Day

Not much going on around here,
except for taking down the Christmas.
And I don't think you want to see pix of that.
So here are some pretty winter scenes.
Above is a little bird in the bush.
It made Smoke quite happy!
I do feel a bit glad to get back to normal,
and look forward to new things,
like my birthday and Sabrina's
(she is later this month).

Well, back to work.
Bye for now!

Woodland Deer Template

I decided to make a wreath that I could use
for all seasons.
I wrapped a styrofoam wreath
with half white yarn and half light blue yarn.
Then I plan to just add accessories
for each holiday or season.
For Christmas I made a cardboard deer myself
and added a vintage sign .
I love how it turned out!

Then I made more deer to go on my tree!
You may notice the mushrooms I started crocheting
last month.

If you like the deer and would like to make some yourself
here is the template.
I only ask that you use it only for your own crafting
not to sell.

Bye for now!

First Snow of 2014

Well, I guess it's goodbye fall,
hello winter!

I have to admit it is pretty,
even with the snow plow dashing by!

Guess it's cocoa time,
are you ready for winter?

Bye for now!

Winter Beauty

The new year is starting our very cold!
But there is still so much beauty to behold.
The bunny looks especially pretty in the glow of sunset.
And speaking of sunsets.....

Bye for now!

Frozen

It's been very cold and snowy,
which does make it feel like Christmas is coming.
As long as you can keep warm.

This bunny is headed down the bunny path.
They make this same path in the snow every year.

Smoke is happy because he can hide
under the Christmas tree skirt again.
Cozy!
Bye for now!

Snow Tracks

We've had lots of snow lately,
and while I don't love shoveling it,
I do love looking at all the little tracks I find.
I can tell just where all our rabbits have been!
Bye for now!

March is Snowy

March is usually a very snowy month
here in Minnesota.
We just got another half foot of it.
Above are some bunny prints on the deck.
And here is the bunny trail leading
to the fence.
It will all melt soon I'm sure.
 In the meantime,
Smoke and I will lay in the sun.
Bye for now!

Winter Can Be Beautiful

The other morning I took some pics
after a fresh coating of snow.
And I happened to catch a squirrel
making a made dash from tree to tree.
Can you see him in the tree here,
he's right in the middle.
Bye for now!

Bunny Ball

One morning I looked out to see a ball of fur in our yard,
a bunny ball!
 Could he get much rounder?
The better to stay warm
while one chews on a twig?
Bye for now!

Around the House

When I look out my downstairs window
I can see this little bunny trail
that leads out the the back fence.
And the pretty pattern of snow on pebbles.
My girl had a clean out of her closet,
and one of the things to go are these blocks.
Almost hate to part with them,
they are so colorful!
Bye for now!

Sketches of the Week

Still in a Christmas and winter mood with my art, and still working on my technique with gouache. It's a much trickier medium than I ...
