Flapper style Posh Posie Pin

Here is my newest Pretty Posh Posie Pin!
It is done in cream and black,
so it would be great for Halloween!
The sequins and beads give it a flapper flair!

With the lace and black velvet it would be great for a night out!

But it would also be great for any outfit!

I love it as a headband,
(check out my new model)
it looks so 20's.

And even more adorable on a hat,
such as this cloche.

And here it is as a choker.

So chic, don't you think?
Please check it out at my store!
bye for now!

Thrifty Thursday is back!

Announcing the return of Thrifty Thursday!
I know I've been so bad posting about my
thrift store finds.
But I will try to share more often!
Today I found some great fabric remnants!]
Some rich velvet jaquard, lacy and off white bits.

And with Christmas not that far away,
I found some sweet red velvet fabric
and a tartan shawl.

Can't wait to craft away with these goodies!
Bye for now!

End Table Makeover

I found this cute little vintage end table years ago,
and she's already had one makeover.
But, I wanted to use it in my downstairs living room.
And I wanted to match her to my lamp I did last week.
So I painted the top shelf gold and the bottom shelf toffee brown.
The I painted a similar flower motif to the one on the lamp.

Then I used Sharpee markers to outline and define the motif.

Oh, and I did the little drawer front too.

I really loved how it turned out,

it makes me very satisfied and happy!

Golden Moments

With fall fast arriving,
I'm finding lots of inspiration for my Posh Posie Pins.

My latest is golden like sunshine and orange like pumpkins!

It has so much texture with yarn, burlap and beads.
And, I want to show it with an outfit that is
perfect for fall.
I just love it with this vest!

The inspiration, came from the show "All Creatures Great and Small".
I've seen it before and I checked it out from the library to watch all over again.

It's all about a vet in the English dales back in the 30's,
and seeing how everyone is dressed just
makes my want to wear wool skirts and wellies!
You can find my latest Posh Posie Pin in my shop!

Faux my old lampshade

First, I'm just glad to be able to post today
as I had the mother of all migraines!
But, I'm better now thank goodness.
Anyway, I wanted to show a little project
I did this week.

I have seriously old lamps in my
downstairs living room.
But they work just fine,
so I decided to try a redo of the shade.
I wanted a crewel embroidery look,
but knew I couldn't actually embroider
on that material.

So I used colored pencils to create a faux embroidery look.

And, I added some gold braid trim to the top and bottom edges.

I think it turned out pretty well,
so much that I plan on doing the smaller
table lamp too.

What do you think?
Bye for now!

New autumn Pretty Posh Posie Pin

Another Pretty Posh Posie Pin for fall!
For this one I used brown corduroy fabric,
orange and gold yarn,
gold beads and brown sequins.

And for the chain, I blended brown and orange yarn,
with brown corduroy flowers.

Here is a shot of the pin on a newsboy cap.

Please check it out at my shop!
bye for now!

Library Love

This past year I've have become an
avid library lover.
And not just for books,
but for movies and tv show too!
Recently, I've watched "True Blood"
"House of Elliot" and "Dr. Who".
And I just finished watching the first season of
"All Creatures Great and Small".
There is no way I could afford to buy all these dvds,
and I wouldn't want to have to store them either.
So this is such a wonderful solution!

But of course, I do check out books too!
Here is an interesting book I just got
called, "Style Yourself".

I don't really worry about whether something is
"in fashion".
I just wear what I like, and that I think I look good in.

This is a book that draws inspiration from bloggers who have
lots of fashion style. And it's about building a wardrobe
and ways to wear clothes.

Like the illustration below that shows
different ways to wear a dress.

And this one shows cardigan options.
Sometimes, I just need a little inspiration to make
the same old clothes look new and different!

I just had to include this shot of a cute girl in her fall outfit.
I especially love the hat!

Hope you get a chance to check out this book,
and your local library.
I think you'll be glad you did!
bye for now!

Up close and personal with Smoke

“Cat people are different, to the extent that they generally are not conformists. How could they be, with a cat running their lives?” Louis Camuti

I love it when I can get Smoke to sit still long enough
to get some good shots.

He was quite relaxed here,
as you can tell.

He makes me relaxed just looking at him! Enjoy!

Bye for now!
