Oven Fries

Here's a super easy, yummy and healthy version of fries
that my daughter loves.
I figure about one potato per person
depending on what you are serving them with.
First wash a dry potato,
then cut into wedges.

Then I add about a tablespoon of oil per potato.
I prefer olive oil.

Next I add any seasonings I want.
My girl likes garlic and parsley.

After tossing in the bowl to saturate,
spread out on a cookie sheet.

Bake at 400 degrees for 30 minutes.
Salt and pepper to your taste
and enjoy!

Bye for now!

Thrifty Finds

Every once in a while I find something at the thrift
that surprises me.
And these fabulous mod ties definitely did that!
There was about four or five of them
and I picked out the two.
The top one is hand made and I just love the colors.
You will see it worn in my next post.
The bottom pic is my favorite of the two
because of the colors and the flowers.
Oh, not to mention the fact
that it came from England!
Check out the label!

My hubby, me, my sis, and Ken

This is my sad good bye to Ken,
who died last week,
the love of my sisters life.
He became a special part of our family,
loving, loyal, funny and sweet.
He wasn't ready to go,
he shouldn't have gone,
and we will miss him terribly.
We will never forget you.

Fashion Inspiration

I love fashion from all time periods,
but the 60's and 70's are definitely my fav!
Love the prints and bright colors of the 60's
dresses above, especially the orange and pink number.

And the styles of the 70's were so charming and bohemian.
I'd love to see the pattern above made into and outfit!
And check out the dress pattern below, so feminine and fairytale!

Thrifty Finds

Happy President's Day weekend!
My daughter had Friday and today off,
so she got a nice long weekend.
On Friday we took her for an eye exam,
and we knew she would probably need glasses
and we were right.
She's nearsighted like her mom and dad,
so next is shopping for frames.
Anyway, here are my latest finds from the thrift.
Some really cute navy and white fabric
and a vintage label maker!
I am so excited to find the label maker,
I've been looking for one for forever!
Would love to find more of the tape in pink
or another fun color!
Bye for now!

Jewelry Organizers

I really love having my jewelry out
where I can see it,
otherwise I forget what I have!
Plus, I just love looking at all my pretty baubles.
So I used  a foamcore cut out for my pins.
And I use a pin board to hang neclaces and rings.

I used to have it hanging on the wall
over my dresser,
but I moved it so it would be easier to reach.

I used another foamcore cutout for my daughter's room.
I added strips of ribbon so she could have
a place for her hair clips.

 Bye for now!

Favorite Things

Lets start the week with more pretty vintage cards!
I love this girl with her big hat and daisy umbrella,
wonder if you could make a real umbrella like that.
Wouldn't it be great?
And this adorable little girl with her kitten, how cute!
Or this stork with his delivery.

How about some roses and daisies?
I'll take a bunch!

That Girl!

We recently got a new tv channel, called ME.
It has lots of great old shows,
but my favorite by far is
"That Girl" with Marlo Thomas.

I remember watching her when I was little
and wanted to be her in every way.
Living in New York, cute boyfriend
and best of all
fabulous clothes!
She wore a so many cute outfits in every show
it makes my head spin!
Watching "That Girl" has also made me want to draw
some mod girls,
so I did!
Here's my version of That Girl!
 Bye for now!

Gift Box Valentines DIY

After Christmas and my daughter's birthday
I realized I had an abundance of gift boxes
from her favorite store.
They have such fun bright colors
that I thought maybe I could recycle them.
So with Valentines Day around the corner I decided to make Valentines!
First I cut out heart shapes from the box.
Then I traced the hearts onto colored cardstock
and cut around the outlines with scrapbooking scissors
to make a border.

Then I glued the cardboard valentine to the cardstock heart.

Now came the fun part!
Get out your glitter!

I drew on the valentines with glue,
outlining the edges
accenting the hearts
and adding words.
Then dusted with colors of glitter that coordinated.

Aren't they fun and colorful!
Then I put double stick tape on the back of the candy
and taped it to the back of the valentine.

You can then write the names on the back.
It's a fun project, and in my case
everything was free except for the candy.
You could use any gift boxes that have great colors and designs.
Thanks for visiting!
Bye for now!

Favorite Things

I caught a cold this week,
my first one in quite awhile!
Since I'm not feeling good,
I thought I'd add some more pix of my vintage cards,
to brighten the day.
I absolutely love the cat on the hat card!
I would love to have a polka dot cat wouldn't you?

And, this sad little puppy, I just want to give him a hug!

And this "young lady" is so precious,
especially with her kitten!
Which one is your favorite?
Bye for now!
