What I Wore
My daughter's 16th birthday is on Monday, so we all went out on Saturday to the Science Museum of Minnesota. The weekend before I had great luck at the clearance section of H&M and found this navy blue skirt for $10 and the gold metallic sweater for $5! My daughter bought the same sweater but in silver.

What I Wore
The weather has been almost spring like lately, so I decided it was a great time to wear my lacey dress again. Only this time I paired it with more rugged, edgy boots. But not to be predictable, I decided to accessorize with a more modern and clean necklace. I do like to mix things up!

Sketches Catch Up
It has been quite awhile since I update you on my sketches! And now that I have a sketch book just for daily sketching, I'm creating a lot to show you. I'm still mainly working with gouache paints and trying to improve.
These cat face turned out to be one of my favorites!
This rooster painting is probably the one that I think turned out the best of all, I'm very happy with the finished product!
I also added the "Warm Mitten" piece at the top to my Society6 shop, so check it out!

What I Wore
I finally got a chance this last weekend to wear the new floral blouse I found on clearance at F21, such a pretty blue floral! And, it goes great with my gold skirt and army green coat.

What I Wore to Celebrate My Birthday
Since my birthday was in the middle of the week, we celebrated on Saturday by going to see the movie Hidden Figures. The story of the women who helped get the first astronauts in space really piqued our interest, and it didn't disappoint! I would definitely recommend it!
I brought out my favorite roller skate print dress and added the new blouse that I received for Christmas. And you may have noticed I got my hair cut and tried styling it a different way. I'm loving this look!

1st Outfit of 2017
For my first outfit of 2017 I'm wearing some of the gifts I got for Christmas. I was soooooo excited to get this gorgeous leopard print faux fur coat. I've wanted a faux leopard coat for years, even as they have gone in and out of fashion. To me, faux fur never goes out of style.
I also received some great new jewelry, a rhinestone necklace and ring. And a new pair of boots. The only down side is that I'm having trouble with the boots, they're not as comfortable as I thought they were going to be. I have issues with my left foot, and it's hard for my to find cute shoes that are wearable. So I ended up wearing different boots in the end. Oh, well, can't win them all.
