Recorder Showcase!

My little cutie had a recorder concert this week!
It was so much fun to hear them playing,
they were really quite good.
She is in the middle on the first row,
wearing the leopard print pants

I Love You Mom!

This is a pic of my mom in 1966.
She's holding a jewelry/music box I gave her.

I feel lucky to say that I got a lot of things from my mom,
beside love!
I got her freckles, (not as many).
I got her blue eyes.
I got her stubborness.
I got her temper.
I got her loyal nature.
I got her great sense of humor.
I got her love of reading and old movies.
I got some of her talent at embroidery.
And, I've always got her support and love!

What We Wore to the Flower Show

The Flower Show at Macy's was a great excuse to

dress up for spring!

I wore the vintage tunic I found at the thrift store!

And I added pin I made using a flower loom.

I will show more pics of that later.

Sabrina looks adorable as usual!

And goofy too!

2011 Macy's Flower Show

Last weekend I got to go to the Macy's Flower Show ,

downtown Minneapolis.

It was AMAZING!

Check out these pictures I took!

Even with the bad lighting, I think you can see

just how beautiful it was!

Managed to get a few shots of us,

but it wasn't easy!

The place was packed!

And, this time they had a seperate gift shop and cafe

with these adorable cookies.

Too pretty to eat!

Bit by Another Craft Bug

Looks like I have another craft obsession to deal with now!

Embroidery!

I finally got around to working on a vintage embroidery kit

that I got at the thrift store some time ago.

And, I'm already hooked on this craft!

My mom did this when I was young,

and I always thought it looked so hard.

Well, it's not that bad, just takes patience.

And, I love that it's something I can do while watching tv.

Sabrina has even been interested,

she did a few of the leaves.

I also have some fun finds from the thrift!

Check out this great vintage tunic!

And a yellow daisy sheet, a gob of colorful yarn, a My Little Pony,

more yarn, and two ponytail holders that look handmade.

What yummy colors! I can't wait to use that yarn! And hope to wear that new tunic this weekend! bye for now!

For Japan

With all the sadness for Japan,

I really wanted to do something special.

Actually, I had been thinking about a black haired doll

and this pretty pink felt that I'd found.

So I decided to create

"Cherry Blossom".

I also used some wonderful vintage venise lace

that looks like little flowers.

And some little vintage millinery pink blossoms at her ears.

But most of all,

I will be donating $5 of the purchase price

to the Japanese Red Cross.

It's getting a bit warmer here,

And her dress is made partially from vintage fabric.
