Kitty Wisdom

When I play with my cat,
how do I know that he is not passing time with me
rather than I with him?  -Montaigne

This is smokes favorite game,
catch the string from under the
afghan!

Bye for now!

Fashion Inspiration

I've really been dress and skirt obsessed lately,
and now that I found this shop
it will only get worse!
I mean check out this cute Chalet skirt above!
Or the Honeycake version below,
oh my!

And I could pair it with these sweet shoes!
I have heard these are really comfortable
(which is something I really have to consider)
on top of being adorable!

Bye for now!

Crafty Creations

In my last post you might have noticed
my cuckoo clock necklace.
Here are some pix to show detail.
I made it the same style
as my 3 in 1 Posh Posie Pins,
with the chain representing
the chain and pendulum
on a cuckoo clock.

Because this was before Christmas,
I decided to make the clock red and green
with snow on top.
But I plan on making another
that is more traditional.

What I Wore

Green jacket, plaid skirt and white blouse: thirft
Tights, cardi and boots: Target
Belt: Dots
Cuckoo clock necklace: Posh Posies Pin made by me

I decided to try giving my hair a bit
of a beehive in back.
This was not easy
as I have very fine and somewhat thin hair.

I had to curl the top piece,
hairspray,
tease,
hairspray some more,
and pin into place with bobby pins.
But I like how it looks!

Thrifty Finds

This is the last of the Christmas goodies
that I've found at the thrift.
The angel is so darling,
that I bought her even though her head is wobbly!

I have seen these glasses in the past,
but they never caught my eye till this year.
Don't know if I'll collect the whole set,
but these two were my favorites.

This little plastic wind chime is so sweet,
and the deer ornie is another great find.

Holiday Decorating

 It's Christmas Eve,
and I hope everyone is enjoying it!
Here are a few more pix of my decorations,
starting with the chalet doll house
in my upstairs living room.

The gnomes have been joined by their cousins
the Christmas elves.

And here are two vintage diecuts
that I found at an estate sale
last fall.

 Little drummer boy and
a cute mouse!
Aren't they adorable!

Holiday Decorating

Today I have more of my Christmas decor,
this time in my bedroom.
I like to keep my pose dolls out,
they are just to cute to put away.

And my bulletin board is accessorized with vintage
Christmas cards, corsages,
and this ornament I made when I was little.

And a cute die cut from the 60s or 70s.

 Putz houses in candy colors!

And, homemade doily snowflakes!

Crafty Creations

Here's a little Christmas craft project
involving a vintage angel head
that I've had for awhile.
It's a head with a pick and wings attatched
and I stuck into the top of a styrofoam cone,
and then covered the cone
with velvet ribbon that I cut
into circles and layered on.
Then I added lace for the top,
bump chenille for the arms,
and gold braid for trim.
Plus I gave her a little gold ball
to hold.
I think she turned out pretty cute!

What I Wore

I found this denim dress last summer on clearance
at Old Navy for $10.
It had ties to tie it in back,
which I removed,
as I like it better with a belt.
Dress: Old Navy
White shirt: thrifted
Belt: Dots
Boots, purse and tights: Target
Coat: Steve and Barry
Xmas pin: Posh Posie Pin made by me
Plaid scarf: vintage from my childhood
Bye for now!

Holiday Decorating

I thought I'd better take some pix of my Christmas decor
before the holidays are over!
I got this little music box Santa from my Mom
I remember it from when I was a kid.
And he still plays!

My china cabinet has a Santa theme this year,
and this is the display on top.
Below is the upstairs Christmas tree.
I'm doing it in red, green and silver
with a woodsy theme.

Hope you're having fun this holiday season!
Bye for now!

Thrifty Finds

I thought I would end the week with more fun Christmas
vintage I found at the thrift!
The item below is another kit,
a Christmas card holder to be exact.

Once Upon a Time

Just had to tell you about this show called
"Once Upon a Time"
on ABC.
It is so freakin good!
[It's a modern take on fairy tales with a female lead character
living in Maine that has risen from interesting circumstances.
The Show revolves around the Adaptation of Fairytale Characters
such as Snow white and Prince Charming
in a quest to discover the Land Of Fairytale's
and fight the Evil Queen who cast an Evil Spell on the Entire Land.]
It's on Sunday nights,
so give it a watch.
And you can watch past episode online to catch up.
I bet you'll get hooked!
bye for now!

Crafty Creations

I am happy to say that I finished the
vintage rocking horse ornament kit,
and while I had some problems with it,
I'm still happy with how it turned out.

I gave it to my girl early, so she could put it on her tree,
and she was pretty excited.

Here is our downstairs tree at dusk.
I love how the lights look at that time of day.

And the outdoor lights,
as we were getting some snow.
All that snow is gone now,
in fact it's raining today!
bye for now!

What I Wore

Black jumper, purse and tights: got from Target years ago
White blouse: thrift
Red coat: thrift
New black shoes: Target
Ring: vintage from my mom
Christmas Pin: Posh Posie Pin made by me

 These shoes are pretty comfy
and they stay on my feet pretty well
which most slip-ons don't do.

Thrifty Finds

This group of thrifty finds really had me excited!
I'm always thrilled to find an embroidery kit,
but this is one I never thought I would find!
I've seen it on Etsy and Ebay,
but it was always too expensive.
So I nearly screamed when I saw it at the thrift!
Also, I was so happy to find the vintage hair ties,
I remember wearing these when I was a little girl.
This sewing basket/organizer is so fab,
right out of the 70s!
I used to have an orange one for cosmetics
but it disappeared.
And, one more kit for Xmas.
Don't know if I'll get it done in time,
but if not I will save it for next year!
Bye for now!
