What I Wore

Our mild weather continues, so I've been wearing jackets more than coats. Moto jackets are perfect for this.

What I Wore

Wow, this last couple of days were busy ones for me! Between cooking for Thanksgiving, Christmas shopping, tree decorating and cookie baking, the weekend has flown by! I hope everyone had as good a weekend as we did!

Sketches of the Week and Some News

This week my art is starting to show the change of season from fall to winter. Even though it's still technically fall, as I write this, it is snowing and looking more like Christmas. I don't mind, as it gives me a lot of inspiration!

I even made a little self portrait of me and my cat Smoke. He is such a character.

And, my news is that I am now selling some of my art on Society6, a website that you can buy prints, and other fun things with my art.  Check it out here
Bye for now!

What I Wore

We finally got some cold weather here, and even a bit of snow! So I brought out one of my fav winter coats and wore it with my newest dress. I made my own choker out of a length of velvet ribbon and a vintage pin.

Well, I guess I'd better update my sketches of the week! I'm still working on my gouache painting techniques. I'm pretty happy with my latest. Hope you enjoy them!

What I Wore

The weather experts were saying it might rain next weekend, so I thought I'd better wear my OTK suede boots this weekend. I decided to pair them with my blue plaid skirt this time and I added a black tie bow to my white shirt. The tie is just a length of black bias tape. I love mixing edgy and conservative pieces together.

What I Wore

It was unseasonably warm this weekend, upper 60s, when we are supposed to be in the 40s! So I tried not to dress too warm. I new the jacket would only be needed for the early morning, but by late afternoon I was thinking I could've worn a short sleeved dress and been just fine! It is November right?

Fall Colors

I thought it was about time to show off some of my favorite photos of fall colors. I never get tired of taking pictures of autumn, I hope you don't get tired of seeing them. The pics above and below are from one of our new paths in my neighborhood.

Love this bright red tree!

Even our crab apple tree is so pretty this time of year. Hope you are having a beautiful fall, ( or spring depending on where you are). Bye for now!

Eagle Landing

The other day, we a wonderful surprise. A bald eagle decided to perch on our back yard fence for about an hour! This isn't something that happens every day I'll tell you! I have seen them fly over the fields behind our house, but never on our fence.

The pic above is the best I could get from my phone camera, but luckily my daughter has a better camera. So the other pictures are much better.

We just couldn't get over the size of his talons and those eyes! So intense!

I think he was looking for prey in the grass behind our fence, and eventually he jumped down to the ground for awhile and then came back up and flew off. So I think he did get his supper after all. We've seen a lot of wild life in the past few years, but this was one of the coolest so far! Hope you enjoyed seeing these photos too. Bye for now!
