Eagle Landing

The other day, we a wonderful surprise. A bald eagle decided to perch on our back yard fence for about an hour! This isn't something that happens every day I'll tell you! I have seen them fly over the fields behind our house, but never on our fence.

The pic above is the best I could get from my phone camera, but luckily my daughter has a better camera. So the other pictures are much better.

We just couldn't get over the size of his talons and those eyes! So intense!

I think he was looking for prey in the grass behind our fence, and eventually he jumped down to the ground for awhile and then came back up and flew off. So I think he did get his supper after all. We've seen a lot of wild life in the past few years, but this was one of the coolest so far! Hope you enjoyed seeing these photos too. Bye for now!

This Makes Me Happy

Oh, dear, there is nothing I like more than finding some fun and thrifty goodies in the Target dollar spot! Granted, the stickers and the words were actually $3 each. But I think they were worth it as they will be very versatile. I have already found a good spot for the words and those removable wall stickers are going to be so fun to use, they will be popping up everywhere! Pictures will be coming soon! Bye for now!

Cats and Birds

Smoke really likes to hang with me, when I'm on the loveseat,

no matter what I'm doing. Even if I'm on the computer. 

Just looking for some love!

Sometimes I have to tease him a little, like putting my glasses

on his nose to see how he looks. Pretty cute I think!

 

When he's not napping we watch the birds,

like this lovely morning dove couple.

Or the young hawk that came to have his lunch in our back yard.

We sure have had a lot of wildlife in our back yard lately,

which Smoke and I just love!

New Sewing Machine!

Well, the sewing drought is finally over!

I have a new (at least to me) sewing machine!

I found it on Craigslist, and it's actually 14 years old, 

but I decided that if might actually last longer

than the last one, because of that.

In other words, it might be made better! 

Plus, it doesn't have any computer parts,

which is what caused the last one to die.

I don't need a computer on my sewing machine,

thank you very much.

I haven't sewn any clothes yet, 

as I've been too busy catching up on mending

that I couldn't do before.

But I will start a clothing project soon, 

probably for fall!

 

I spruced her up a bit with some washi tape and stickers.

Oh, and I'm thinking of giving her a name,

any ideas?

The Calm Before the Storm

Oh, my we had some beautiful storm clouds the other night!

And the best part was that there was no damage!

Fall Thunder Storms Make Me Happy

 We had some thunder storms move in last night

and the cloud show was fantastic!

I'm just fascinated with storm clouds,

and these were some really cool ones.

 This looked like a big crack in the clouds,

I was waiting for the alien space ship to fly through!

 Below, it looks like the sky is smiling!

 And the best part is that we didn't see any damage,

just some lightening and lot of rain.

And we really needed the rain!

Smoke and the Spider

 It's been kind of crazy here,

getting back into the swing of things

with my girl's online school.

 But I finally have some time to do my blog again.

And take a few pics around the house.

I noticed Smoke looking intently out the window yesterday,

and found a really neat spider web in our bush.

 Hopefully you can spot the little white spider

hanging in the middle of the web.

I was even able to get a pic from underneath it.

 After a while I think Smoke lost interest,

so I snapped him looking at his reflection in the window!
