Last Day of Sale! and Some Vintage Goodies

I wanted to show some more vintage goodness that I've found recently!
Especially this "Miss Lollipop" perfume bottle, below.
I remember her from when I was a kid, and having been wanting one ever since I saw it
at an antique store.
She is missing her necklace I believe, but otherwise she's in great condition!
The hat always reminds me of Marlo Thomas in "That Girl".

I got Miss Lollipop off of Ebay, but I found the "Pretty Peach" avon cologne,

below, at an estate sale.

I also been fascintated by vintage craft books lately, like the Christmas one below.

Here is a craft from the book.

And last, but not least, today is the last day of my sale!
So check it out before it's too late!!
Bye for now!

Some of my favorite things!

Here are a few of my favorite things from the past week!

First, is a throw I'm crocheting for my bed. It's a granny square motif,

done in yellow, white aqua and orange.

I will show it again when it's finished!

And below is a new owl plaque from an estate sale to add to my owl collection!

Also from that sale is a cool embroidered wall hanging, that perfectly matches my kitchen colors!

And, this was the sunset, I think it was on, Thanksgiving day.
Isn't is just gorgeous!!!

Nothing makes me feel more joyous than a beautiful sunset!

And, don't forget!

Last two days of my sale!

Ends tomorrow!!!

Bye for now!

My Collection

This week's My Place and Yours is all about collections. Well, I have too many collections to show them all, but I realized I'd never really showed off my collection of vintage pins, so here goes.
First are my sparkly pins with rhinestones and pearls. I decided to display them in a frame.
I have a smaller collection of enamel pins, and I'm working on building that one! The two butterflies are metal.

Hope you like my collection, and if you want to check out more, go to Meet Me at Mikes.

Bye for now!

There are little velvet millinery flowers scattered in the netting.

And a sweet little velvet ribbon bow at the back! Tres chic!

WAYBACK Wednesday!

Ok, I found this on Ebay a little while back, just after I'd started crocheting again.

I knew I had to have it, great crochet patterns and even better illustration!

How cute is that poncho above, and the top below!!

There is some photography too, as seen in the next two.

The gal below is obviously having a blast sipping soda pop and listening to records!

This is the back cover, adorable!

New Ride

This is my hubby and daughter showing his old vehicle, just for comparison, because.....

Now he has a new ride! Well, it's newer anyway, a 1999 Dodge!

And, I think he's pretty excited! Sabrina loves the quad cab seat!

But, she also likes riding up front!

This is what we did last Wed., so that's why there was no Wayback Wednesday.
But tomorrow it will be back! Bye for now!

What's New! Craft of the Day!

"When can we bring out the Christmas tree?"

That's what I've been hearing a lot lately from this little girl......

Well, if it were up to me and there was no Thanksgiving, I'd be putting it up now.
I'm as antsy as she is!
But, I can't quite bring myself to break with tradition just yet. So I thought we'd do a small taste of the Christmas tree decorating!
Which leads me to this sweet, but rather unhappy little tree that my mom sent for Sabrina to have.

It came with a set of mini ornies, and it looks pretty good decorated that way, but unfortunately the base broke when I was trying to assemble it! Then, I got an epiphany and decided to make a new base for it (because no amount of glue was going to fix it!).

So, I grabbed a little bucket I had in my studio that has a styrofoam ball in it. I used it to prop paper mache pieces to dry. I painted it red and covered the ball with snow tex.

While the snow tex was still wet, I added some vintage glitter and stars.
After that I stuck the little tree in the base and we started decorating with the ornies that came with it. And I finished off with a little red bow around the base of the tree.

I think it turned out pretty good, and I plan to use it in Sabrina's room. Will take pix when I get that figured out.
Bye for now!

My Place and Yours

This weeks theme for "My place and Yours" is "a view of your secret weapon" chosen by
We are supposed to show the thing that always brings out my creativity, no matter what. Well for me that is my colored markers! Just looking at all those colors makes my fingers itch! I also love my colored pencils as well. Paints are great, but the makers and pencils are quick and easy to use, and portable!
I like to stick a black ultra fine tip Sharpie in my purse with a small sketch pad, so I can doodle when the mood strikes me. Thanks for visiting! And if you want to see all the other participants for this weeks theme, check out the list at Pip's blog!
Bye for now!
