Vintage Valentine Finale

Here are the last vintage Valentines
that I have to show you.
I love this amusement park ride valentine
with the little planes!
A raccoon burglar?
How cute!
This train locomotive reminds me of my grandpa,
because he was a train engineer.
I love that it has glitter!
Bye for now!

What I'm Working On

I've been working on this fun project lately,
using calico fabrics, felt and assorted sewing trims.
I really love cuckoo clocks
so this was my first design.
I made this as a wall hanging
and will keep this one myself.
But I'm making more designs that are brooches
and those will hopefully be for sale very soon!
Stay tuned!
Bye for now!

Around the House

Lately I've been working on some
fun projects in calico fabric.
I will be showing the results very soon!

And I moved my record player upstairs
to my dining area near the kitchen.
That way I can listen to music
while I bake!
Of course, as I took pix of my records,
Smoke showed up to supervise.
Hello there!
I think the top of his head is so pretty!
Bye for now!

Bunny Ball

One morning I looked out to see a ball of fur in our yard,
a bunny ball!
 Could he get much rounder?
The better to stay warm
while one chews on a twig?

Sweet Vintage Valentines

 This group of vintage valentines
features a card for teacher.
Do they still make them for teachers nowadays?
I don't think so, which is too bad.
I truly love this little panda bear!
And anything with a bee is cute to me!
Bye for now!

Flower Loom Heart Tutorial

This is a demonstration of how I make a heart
on a vintage flower loom.
First, it has to be a loom with adjustable pegs,
so you can form the shape of a heart.
You can see this shape in the pic below.
Secondly, you need to know how to wind the yarn
around the pegs as you would for a flower.
I started winding my heart
at the top and bottom points.
Then worked my way around till
I got back to the beginning.
Also, I wound twice for each time
to give a little thickness to the heart.

 After winding is done,
you need to finish the center
and tie off.

Now you can remove the heart from the loom
and start to crochet around the edge.
I use a single crochet stitch,
and started at the top center of the heart.
I slip stitched onto those top loops and then chained 6,
single crochet onto the next set of loops
and chained 4.
I just kept going around like this,
adjusting the number of the chains in between
to keep the loops in a heart shape.
Once I got back to the start at the top,
I slip stitched and tied off.
And here is the finished heart!
Bye for now!

Estate Sale Finds

Last Friday we went to a
pretty great estate sale.
I found these fabulous vintage sheets!

Plus, I'd been wanting a spool holder for ages,
and I found this cutie.
And a bag of sequins!
But best of all was a box with flower looms
and a instruction booklet.
I can't get enough craft books!
Bye for now!
