Halloween fairies for Ebay

Here are my first Halloween fairies of the season for Ebay! They are done in black and cream with touches of orange. The top one is "Boo fairy" She has a vintage lace collar, and a hat with silver glass glitter and a black feather. And there is crepe paper fringe trim around the base of the pumpkin. The bottom one is "Trick or Treat fairy" and has crepe fringe trim and a vintage millinery flower petal on her hat. She carries a pumpkin pail for treats. I have to say, Halloween is my favorite holiday to create for. Love the combination of cream and black! Bye for now!

100th blog WINNER!

The winner of the cupcake fairies is......Becca! Congrats! Just email me your address and I will get it out to you asap!! Tomorrow if possible! I pinned Becca's name on a board that I pin tags on that I make to send with packages. I have a bad habit of losing them! Below is a pic I took the other day of Sabrina and our kitty Tigger. They are on our bed, don't you just love the fancy blue towel! LOL! It's there to save the comforter cover (hopefully). The funny thing is, for awhile I couldn't get a good pic of Sabrina to save my soul! And now she's taking good pix right and left! Will post again soon to show the new things I have on Ebay, so check back, or go there right now if you can't wait. Bye for now!!

Halloween is here on Ebay!

These are the first items I've made for Ebay this season! They are both collages, but I will be doing some fairies too. In fact, I'm almost done with a fairy, but don't think I'll get it done in time. Anyway, these are made with vintage frames that I painted and painted the background with polka dots. The first one is "Baby Wizard" and is a copy of one of my old photo that I altered with paint and colored pencil. I added her own owl and silver glittered star. She also has a skirt in cream and orange crepe paper and vintage black millinery flower petals. I've also added vintage ric rac, vintage glitter and black tinsel. It's hard to see in this pic, but the baby and owl are three dimensional.

The second collage is "Raven Moon" and has a raven or crow that I drew freehand. She is carrying a little witch fairy on her back, which is a copy of a vintage photo that is altered with paint and colored pencil. I also added plenty of silver glitter, vintage crepe paper, and vintage cream lace. I plan to put these on Ebay tonight, so check them out! Bye for now!

Check out the Fairie Zine

I got Lisa Kettell's fairy zine, and I'm so excited to be one of the artist's that she featured in it(sorry that the pic is so blurry!). I'm in very good company, with so many other great artists in there! She did a beautiful job on it, and I'm honored to be in it! Here's were you can get the zine. She also sent me a whole bunch of cool ephemera and coupon! What a sweetie! Check out Lisa's blog too! Bye for now!

Pink sky at night, artist's delight!

Last night at sunset, I looked out my window of my office and notice that the sky had really a weird light. So I ran to the deck and couldn't believe how beautiful and eerie it was! The light reminded me of what it looked like when I saw the solar eclipse in 1979. There were thunderheads and roll clouds too. Sabrina wanted to get in on the action so I took one of her too. There are more pix on my flickr site too. I just love sunsets! They always make me feel so thankful to be alive. But I know that I'm just one small little dot in the universe when I see things like this.

Hairstyles and thrift store swans

Sabrina came into my office the other night to show off her newest hairstyle! She'd figured out how to use a ponytail holder with a rose on it to hold up her hair. It really look so pretty that I had to get some pix, which she loved! I still don't know where she got that beautiful curly hair!

Next is a photo of my latest haul from the thrift store. I actually got even more than this, a whole truckload of styrofoam balls, a little adding and subtracting game, and some tap shoes for Sabrina (she loves to pretend to tap dance and they had a whole bunch of used ones). But the best finds were the vintage wedding wrapping paper (just love the colors!) and the chalkware swan plaques. I've been eyeing plaques just like these on ebay, and now I finally have some! Well, bye for now!

Lavender Romance for Etsy

Here is one last summery collage for Etsy, before I devote all my work to Halloween. Wanted to do something in purple and cream. Everything on it is vintage except for the glitter. I thought the little ballerina cake topper would be a fun way to add some dimension.
Here are my latest finds from Thrift store and estate sale. The pink boxes and the match boxes are from the estate sale. And the cigar box and silver bowl are form the thrift store.
These are from last week, but with the bridge tragedy, I couldn't get into writing about them. There is a rubber stamp in the upper right corner that says, "Do not bend". That's all for now, but don't forget the give-away. I'll be drawing the winner tomorrow!

Sad day

I was going to post a bit about my latest thrift store purchases, but just this evening a terrible tragedy occured in Minneapolis. A bridge that is part of a major highway, completely collapsed and as I speak they are trying to rescue people. All I can do is think positive that no one was killed, and that it will be ok, but I'm really shaken. I just am thankful that no one I know personally was involved. It is so unreal, I can't really believe it. I will be thinking of those who were involved and I hope that everyone is going to be ok.
