13th Birthday

 My daughter turned 13
and here are some of the gifts she got.
I made an acrylic paining of an arctic fox,
one of her favorite animals.
And I crocheted a purple bracelet for her,
that you can sort of see here on her wrist.
I'll have to get a better pic later.
We also got her "The Fox and the Hound" dvd.
She does love foxes!
And Grandpa and Grandma got her an i pod!
Make a wish!
Time for cake!

bye for now!

Happy Birthday Dear Daughter!

This was my daughter 13 years ago today.
Now she is officially a teenager.
I couldn't be more proud of her,
and I couldn't love her more.

Crocheting a Puff Stitch Infinity Scarf

I guess I finally got around to trying a circle
or infinity scarf!
I decided to try one using the puff stitch
and I really like how it turned out!
The puff stitch gives it texture,
and keeps it from getting too heavy.
And I really needed something in a cream color,
problem solved!
What do you think?
Edit: I thought I should share where I got the idea for this scarf.
I used this pattern to get the stitch, but I chained 180
into a circle and did it in the round.

New Cuckoo Clock Pin

I'm so excited about my new cuckoo clock pin!
I used brown gingham, ric rac and lace!
I added a stag head for alpine flavor,
and hearts.

I think it would be adorable for Valentine's Day,
or any time!
Find it in my Etsy shop!

Hearts and Lace

I brought out the hearts I crocheted last year,
and made a little garland out of them.
They look so pretty next to some lace!

And I am playing around with an
arrow bowtie I designed.
I love how it turned out,
but I would like the tails to hang
without curling, so I'm not done with it yet.

 Bye for now!

The Fox and the Deer

Let me show you my two new pins,
a gingham fox
and a gingham heart with a deer.
I love this brown gingham fabric!
Wouldn't these be fun Valentine's Day gifts?
Find them both in my Etsy shop!

I've also been experimenting with different
heart crochet patterns,
what fun!

Jam Jar Candle Holder DIY

My hubby is a Bonne Mamon Jamaholic,
so I always have at least a couple of these cute jars around.
So I thought I'd make one into a sweet little candle holder.
With Valentines Day coming
I thought of using lace to dress it up.

This is a super simple craft
and all you need is:
jam jar
glue
brush
lace
votive candle

Cut your lace to fit around the jar,
I ended up using a narrower lace,
as it fit better.
Dilute you glue with a little water
to make it spread easier and decoupage
the lace onto the jar.

 Then just add you votive!
I used a battery operated votive
I found in Target's dollar section
because I wanted to use it as a night light.

Plus, with the fake votive you can put the lid on too!

Bye for now!

Winter Beauty

The new year is starting our very cold!
But there is still so much beauty to behold.
The bunny looks especially pretty in the glow of sunset.
And speaking of sunsets.....
