DIY Graphic Tee
I've been on the look out for the perfect graphic tee for awhile now and just couldn't find exactly what I wanted. And then I saw this phrase and because I'm going to be doing a lot of hiking very soon, I thought I would try out using a fabric marker and see what happened. I bought a tee at Old Navy the other weekend when they were $5 and a black fabric marker at Michaels. You want to make sure and wash the tee before beginning.
Then I laid it out flat on my work table and put a piece of foam core underneath (and in between layers) to protect the back of the shirt. You could use any piece of thick cardboard or poster board.
Next I drew out my design with pencil on a piece of paper and retraced with marker. I made sure I made the design the right size for the tee. You could also download a design from the computer and print it out if you want.
Then I placed that paper under the top layer and positioned it where I wanted it.
According to the directions for this marker, I needed to shake the pen vigorously to get the ink to the point and press down on a scrap of paper a couple of times too.
I also laid down some weights to keep the tee from moving around as I traced the letters.
The tee is stretchy so I found that doing a stippling motion with the marker worked better then a brush stroke method.
After letting it dry overnight laying flat it was ready to wear the next day. I haven't tried washing it yet, but I'm pretty confident it will wash well.
This turned out even better than I thought, and I can't wait to wear it! If you try this I would love to see your results. Bye for now!

What I Wore
Every weekend seems to be really hot lately, which makes it a little harder to come up with outfit ideas. I didn't even feel like wearing much for jewelry! But at least I'm getting plenty of use out of my new dress and sandals. And I brought out my navy straw purse for a change.

Father's Day Lunch
On Saturday we went to the Mall of America to have a Father's Day lunch. The mall has been renovating and adding lots of new shops and restaurants, so we wanted to try out something new.
We ended up going to Burger, Burger and the food was pretty good. We also wandered around and realized that the new food court area on the north side leads to a bridge that heads over to IKEA.
So we headed over there on a unscheduled trip and I bought a few things for my office/studio, including a cute little succulent!
We had a really fun day, which ended with a beautiful sunset!
Hope you had a great weekend and Father's Day! Bye for now!

What I Wore
For Father's Day weekend we went to the Mall of America on Saturday. My hubby wanted to try a new restaurant and there a whole bunch of new ones to try there. It was another 80+ degree day so I dressed light with sandals I could do a lot of walking in.

What I Wore
Well, it was one hot weekend! Wew! So it gave me a chance to wear my new top from H&M. It didn't come with straps, so I added my own with some vintage lace and my trusty sewing machine. This way I can wear a regular bra with it.

Are You Hungry?
Summer is here and so are the delicious foods of summer! So in honor of summer food, I've made a couple of new lapel pins.
How about a yummy ice cream cone, with a happy face! Who doesn't like ice cream!
Or how about juicy pineapple? Think tropical and beachy!
They look great together too, especially with a little bit of sunshine!
Find them now at my shop! And enjoy summer!

It Was a Lovely Weekend
We spent a lovely weekend on a road trip to Rushford, MN. Partly to visit family and celebrate my Father-in-law's birthday. And partly to hand over our daughter to her grandparents so they could take her back with them to South Dakota. We will head out there in about a month, and from there, will pick her up and go on to Yellowstone!! Yay! I worked in Yellowstone back in 1981 and haven't been there since so I'm so excited!
In Rushford we stayed at a local inn, that had these fun old fashioned keys. You don't see these much anymore!
It did get a little stormy that evening, but cleared up fast and the rest of the weekend was great!
Hope you had a great weekend! Bye for now!

What I Wore
Over the weekend we drove down to Rushford, MN to see Great Grandma and celebrate my father-in-law's birthday. We stayed overnight and came back on Sunday, but my daughter went back with the grandparents to South Dakota. I really wanted to wear my new dress from H&M again, but this time I paired it with a cardi as it started out rainy and a bit cool.
