The World of Pretty Posh Posies!

Welcome to the world of Pretty Posh Posies! These magical little dolls love to play and pretend they are in the circus. Or they dream of candy castles in the land of the Sugar Mountains. And they are always ready to dress up for a fancy ball or soiree.
Claudette at the ball.........

How do these amazing dolls come to life? The ingredients are paper clay, paint, mohair, felt, vintage fabrics and trimmings, and generous spinklings of glitter and magic posie dust! Each one takes time and patience, but I love creating them all and seeing what they want to be. Of course, they are 100% handmade, and one of a kind.

Below are a few shot of the sculping process to make the arms, legs and heads.

Now I'd like to introduce the first doll of my new Pretty Posh Posies!

Claudette, is the bell of the ball, having been invited to the birthday party of the royal prince of Bon Bon. She has on her best dancing frock, with silver buckles on her shoes and a sparkling silver bracelet. As a final touch she added a large cream colored rose to her hair.

Below you can see her silver bracelet.

And the little silver buckles on her dancing shoes!

Please come back to the Kingdom of Bon Bon,
to meet some more really sweet dolls!
Bye for now!

What a hoot!

Got this vintage latch hook kit at least a year ago,
I think at an estate sale,
and I'm finally getting around to making it!
Below is a pic of the finished product:
And, this is what I've accomplished so far:

You have to do the embroidery bits first,

then I can move on to the latch hook fun!

Bye for now!

Back to the Pumpkin Patch!

Fall is here! (even though it doesn't feel like it today at 85degrees!)

But last weekend it was in the 50's and it felt like fall

and looked like fall.

So it was time to do some leaf peeping

and head out to our favorite pumpkin patch!

Of course, Sabrina didn't waste any time getting the witch's pot

photo taken.

And she still loves the haunted house,

although she said it looked smaller than she remembered!

Guess she is growing up!

While waiting to go on the hayride we feed as

many goats as we could.

So fun!

Then we took the hayride and saw lots of cute things.

Like the hay bale dude!

After, the pumpkin patch we headed to the scenic

river town of Stillwater, Minnesota.

The colors on the Mississippi are gorgeous!

Happy Fall!

Bye for now!

Winnifred and Frankie

Oh dear! I almost forgot to post about my latest creations!
But their auctions don't end until Monday night,
so there is still time to check them out over at Ebay!
Please meet Winnifred the Witch
and
Frankie!
Winnie is a perky little witch,
and she has just learned how to ride her broom!

Watch out birds and planes!

And Frankie is a creation of the talented Dr. Frankenstein
(that would be me)!

Check out her stitches!

I hope you like them both and can go check them out!

Bye for now!

More Spooky Posies!

Chill winds are blowing in
two new dolls
from my Pretty Posh Posies.
And you can find them here on Ebay!

Meet Vera the Vampire!

She loves to dress up and party all night!

She has a weekness for jewelry and clothes

(among other things).

Check out the toothy smile!

And, I'd also like you to meet Gilda the ghost.

She's very feminine and lady like,
for she used to be a dancer.
But since she died,
she has more macabre tastes.
Now she loves to carry her skull basket.

What a sweet face!

Please check them both out at Ebay!

Bye for now!

Pretty Posh Posie Dolls!

I am so excited about these new dolls that I've been making!
They are very special to me,
I just can't stop making them!
They are all made of paper mache for
their jointed arms and legs.
And they are dressed in vintage or recycled fabric
and bits and pieces.
But the best part I think,
are their faces.
Below you can see what I mean!
Big starry eyes and sweet bow mouths.
This one is called Josette.

She has raven black hair and a black and cream dress.
She would be wonderful sitting with Halloween decorations
or any time of year!

Next is Autumn.

She has fiery fall colored hair and vintage millinery

in her hair.

Plus, she is wearing a dress made of a vintage apron.

Last, is Peony.

She looks fresh and pink

with pink floral dress

also made from a vintage apron.

Each doll is signed and has a posie on one of her palms.
(as you can see below)

I decided to list them on Ebay at low starting prices

so everyone can have a chance

owning one!

bye for now!

Hanging out with Sponge Bob

Yesterday was a day of rides and fun
at the Mall of America
Nickelodeon park.
First Daddy and daughter went on the swing ride!

Then we all hopped aboard the ferris wheel.

Thankfully my stomach can still take it!

Of course, Sabrina never misses out on the carousel!

Hope you had a fun filled weekend!
Bye for now!

Sketches of the Week

Still in a Christmas and winter mood with my art, and still working on my technique with gouache. It's a much trickier medium than I ...
