Summer Trip Part Four

 Of course, we had to see the faces,

Mt. Rushmore!

 This time we took the President's Trail.

It goes right underneath the faces.

This one looks like Lincoln has a pine beard.

 Such a beautiful and inspiring place.

Summer Trip Part 3

 On this day of our trip we went to meet up with my sis

for lunch in the Spearfish Canyon.

Naturally it was time for a family photo!

Afterwards, we went for a hike on a trail

that takes you from the top of a waterfall,

 To a bridge that overlooks it,

from very high up!

But it's a great view,

 in both directions!

 Then it takes you to the bottom

where you can feel the mist coming off 

the waterfall.

 It was a great hike

and we had a wonderful visit!

Summer Trip Part Two

 On the second day of our trip we went to Custer State Park.

While there we rode a paddle boat on a serene lake,

(sorry no pics of that, but I forgot to bring my camera),

and  picnic under a huge oak tree.

 And driving the loop

seeing lots of wildlife,

 including lots of donkeys!

 And, taking in beautiful vistas!

Summer Trip Part One

 As with last year, 

our summer trip took us to South Dakota,

to visit with the hubby's parents.

My girl had been out there already,

ever since she got out of school.

So by the time hubby and I got there,

she was as familiar with their place

as Grandma and Grandpa were.

Here we are taking a walk around their property.

 Peaking out of the rocks

Thrifty Finds

 Isn't this little guy cute! 

I found him at a garage sale for 50 cents!

 And the thrift store yielded a great vintage sheet,

 Some lovely fabric

(which I made into shorts),

 and vintage pillowcases!
