We are heading to South Dakota to see both my mom and the hubby's parents, so will be leaving Friday and come back after the 4th of July. Sabrina has never been there, so will be fun to see it all fresh through her eyes. Rob and I have been many times, most of them for the Sturgis bike rally. Anyway, hope you all have a great 4th of July!!! Bye for now!! :)

You tell me your dream
In honor of Father's Day I scanned in some old pics of my dad, a couple of favorites. He passed away about 20 years ago now, but I still miss him so much. Above is a photo of him swinging in the rope swing that he hung from an old elm tree on the farm. It was our favorite place to play, and this is one of the ways I like to remember my dad.
This pic is of Dad and me on a ferry in Seattle. We were eating ice cream cones. I guess I was about 8 yrs. old there. I have so many good memories, but I regret that my husband and daughter never got to meet him. He would have loved them. I'm adding a video of one of his favorite songs, "You tell me your dreams". The words are at the end, and they are hard to hear, so I will write them here:

I had a dream, dear
You had one, too
Mine was the best dream
Because it was of you
Come, sweetheart, tell me
Now is the time
You tell me your dream
And I'll tell you mine

Pink and Green Garland
This is my latest custom banner done in bright pink and green. This was a really fun combo to work with! And, by the way, it is featured on simplymein's Ga Ga for garlands blog! I'm so thrilled! It's quite an honor, considering all the great banners, garlands and wreaths that are on there. Thanks simplymein!! Bye for now!

Etsy Update
I've added some fun vintage ephemera to my etsy shop, that I found at the thrift store. Above are some postcards that have cute little illustrations on them. The colors are so bright and cheerful, and I think they would be great for collages, tags, scrapbooking, you name it! Below are some picture dominoes with sweet little animals. Aren't they just adorable? They are thick cardboard with felt backs. You can get them on Etsy. Bye for now!

Be it ever so humble
I was out in my little garden this morning laying down new mulch, and realized what a pretty morning it was. It's just a humble garden, not nearly as amazing as some of the gardens I see on other blogs. But I'm pretty happy with how it has progressed from nothing when we moved here to where it is now. And, on a very tight budget. It's so tight this year that I have made use of my mom's garden decorations that she no longer uses and some old decorations of mine. They fill in the empty spots nicely!
It gets a little better every year, and I guess that it mirrors my life. I've definitely have planted a few things in my life (like in my garden) that died. But then some things have really blossomed and grown. Learn from your failures and rejoice in your victories. And then lay a little mulch to keep out the weeds! Bye for now!

Farm field trip
This is Earthway Farms in central Minnesota, where Sabrina's 1st grade class went for their field trip yesterday. I got to go along as a parent volunteer, and it was lots of fun. Brought back lots of memories of growing up on our farm in North Dakota. Especially the smells, some good and some not so good! The pic above shows one of the farmers with a rabbit. And below we are checking out two calves. Sabrina is standing left of her teacher.
Here is Sabrina in front of the calf pen. She was really enjoying it!
Here are a couple of pigs, "Pork chop" and "Bacon". I didn't make that up, by the way!
Here is one of the roosters, crowing for me. I think he loves the camera! Today was the last day of school! I guess summer is finally here! Bye for now!

Hope still springs eternal
Hope is still spinging that I might be able to find a home for this collage cutie above. I had her on Etsy, but I'm beginning to wonder if Etsy is the place for my art. So now I have moved her to Ebay, and I hope to give her one last chance. If you are interested, check it out at Ebay.
This is another banner that I did for Jennifer, for her daughter Vivian. It was lots of fun to work with the candy colored pastels and also, Vivian is my mom's name. So naturally, it was fun using that name in a banner. Jennifer is a sweet gal, you should check out her blog too! Bye for now!
