I just want to thank anyone who has checked out the tutorial that I did over at Artsymama's Sweet and Sinister blog. Thanks for the sweet comments too, I'm so happy you enjoyed it! It's the first one I've ever done, and I was nervous at how it would turn out. Below, is the garland that I did for the tutorial. It was lots of fun doing this, and might do a different one sometime for my blog, if I can fit it in. But first I have to get more items done for Halloween, and below is a sneek peek of my first project. Thanks again for all the wonderful comments, bye for now!

Time for a new do!

Sabrina wanted me to try putting a bun in her hair, so I gave it a try. It actually turned out quite well, partly because her hair has lots of body. She definitely liked it, she had me do it for her three days in a row now!

She also decided to make a sign for her bedroom door. (I put it on the armoire to get a better pic of it.) She did it all by herself except I punched the holes and put the string on.
Here are some tags I made at the same time as I was making the ones for Christmas in July at Etsy. Bye for now!

Christmas in July!

Merry Christmas! Well, maybe not, but here are the items I put on Etsy for the Cottage Style Street team event. First, I made a cupcake banner with hand drawn cupcakes and lots of glitter.
The banner spells out "Jingle" and there are vintage jingle bells on a couple of the cupcake hats.

I also made two sets of tags, one with hand drawn cupcakes shown below.

The other set has Christmas phrases on each. Of course, Sabrina wanted to get in on the pictures, it IS her bed I'm using in the background. Bye for now! :)

Here Now and Coming Soon!

Just put these delightful vintage rummy playing cards on Etsy. They are in sets of five, with five different animals. I just love the colors and the great illustrations! Then, by the end of the week
I will be adding some Christmas in July items as part of a CSST event. I made a banner and
some lovely little tag sets. Will let you know when they are on Etsy officially! Bye for now!

All of My Children Have Paws

Decided to make a charm for my sis, Denise, when I saw this phrase on a website. It fit her perfectly since she has three kitties. I gave it too her when we went out to the Black Hills.
On the back, (it is two sided) is a bit of vintage black lace. The front image is all collage, not a copy, and I added a little glitter. This is the first rectangular charm I've soldered. I was pretty happy with how it turned out, definitely improving on the soldering! Then I found a vintage box
to wrap it in. I think she really liked it! Bye for now!

Visit to Grandpa and Grandma's

The last thing we did on our trip was to head to Grandma and Grandpa's place near Hill City. They have a gift shop with lots of beautiful home goods, clothing and accessories. Plus, Rob's uncle Steve and his family were there too, and Steve gave Sabrina rides on his atv. She absolutely loved it!!

In fact, she loved it so much that she also got some rides with Grandpa too! Bye for now!

Dyna-mite!

We had to make a quick trip into Rapid City to see the dinosaur statues. They have been there since 1938, but I remember them from my first time to the Black Hills as a little girl. Rob and I have been to see them since, but we wanted Sabrina to see them too. I remember being so amazed by them, and feeling a little scared of how high up they were! Bye for now!

Mt. Rushmore

Well the next day we headed off to Mt. Rushmore, very early. We had tried the day before, but because of the fire works display, you had to park miles away and walk to it (up hill!). We weren't about to do that! So we came as 7:00 am the next day and it was great! Nobody there, at first, and got a great parking spot. It was so quiet and peaceful. Above, Rob is walking down to the viewing platform.
The weather was perfect and the faces were amazing! Bye for now!

Wildlife and Crazy Horse

After the cave, we decided to take a drive around the wildlife loop in Custer State Park. We saw buffalo, mountain goats, and deer. Next, we stopped at the Crazy Horse Monument. It's such an amazing place, with so much to see. It's a mountain that is being carved like Mt. Rushmore, only this is a depiction of the Lakota indian Crazy Horse. It will be much bigger than Mt. Rushmore too, when it's done.
They have a long way to go, even though it started back in 40's, it's slow going. The orig. sculptor (who is dead now) didn't want to accept any money from the Fed. govt. So the only money they get is from donations and revenue from tickets and sales.
This small statue shows what it will look like when it is finished. So far only the face is done. You can see his profile in the top middle of the mountain. Well, bye for now!

Rushmore Cave

Next we headed to Hill City, and the next day we decided to check out the Rushmore Cave. That was really amazing! Sabrina is really into rocks, so it was fun to take her there!

Here are some stalagmites below.
The next two pictures show stalactites, the first one is one of the largest and oldest in the Black Hills. We went to another cave years ago, but we thought this one was better. Bye for now!

Viva Deadwood!

Thanks to my mom and Denise, we got a chance to go to Deadwood while Sabrina stayed and visited with them. Rob and I didn't want to take Sabrina, because the main street is mostly casinos. We did a little gambling and antiquing.
The next day, we left Belle Fourch, but stopped to see Mom and Denise before we left. Was hard
to say goodbye! We miss you Mom, Denise and Ken! Bye for now!
