What I Wore for a Birthday Outing

Saturday was my daughter's 15th birthday, so we went to the Science Museum of Minnesota.

It was someplace she had been wanting to go to for awhile. We really had a blast, so I'll have some fun pix to show you on Tuesday.
It was kind of crazy that I was able to wear a jean jacket on January 30th, but we do sometimes get a January thaw (as the weather people call it). And I wasn't complaining! It went great with my blue plaid skirt and moto boots.

Easy Valentine's Garland

I love a simple and fast craft project, and this one is it. Here is a quick simple garland for Valentine's Day that I think looks very cute and fun for very little effort.

Just a few simple materials are needed:

Cardstock

Baker's twine

Craft glue

Fine glitter

Clothes pins (I found mine in the Target dollar bins)

Heart shaped template

I simply cut my own heart template, but you can find many on pinterest. You can make your garland any length you want, and then cut out enough hearts to fit. 

Next I took the glue bottle tip to draw x's and o's and dusted with glitter. Once dried, I clipped them to the baker's twine. Easy peasy!

What I Wore: Pretty Bow Tights

I just love these tights I found at Target, similar to these also from Target. These have great little bows on them. Both tights are all one piece but look like two piece which makes them easy to wear. 

And, I wore a striped long sleeved tee under my dress for another different look.

Good Intentions

You've probably noticed that I haven't been very regular with the blog posts lately, and I have lots of reasons. But it doesn't really matter what the reason, I just have to get back into the groove. So now I have good intentions and a new planner I found at Target. It will hopefully keep me motivated, we shall see.

I have to say that blogging doesn't come easy to me, I don't really like writing to be honest. It's not that I don't have a lot of ideas, but it's hard to get them on paper. I'm such a perfectionist, it takes me five minutes to write one sentence!

So here's to pretty stationery and good intentions! Wish me luck!

What I Wore: New Skirt from Target

I have been pretty darned lucky finding clearance goodies at Target lately, and proof of that is this lovely new skirt I found there! It has a great bold pattern and color combo, with a stiff fabric that holds its shape. I paired it with a patterned blouse I've had for years and a long sleeved tee.

What I Wore

It got extremely cold here, as in single digits, so I decided to layer and wore my grey dress with a white blouse I found at  H and M on clearance. I really wanted a white blouse I could wear under things that wouldn't add bulk and this one is perfect. I also wore the new boots I got for my birthday, I love lace up boots!

What I Wore

For my birthday this year I wore my new striped tee from Target with the skirt I got on clearance, I knew this skirt would be a favorite! And of course it looks great with my new coat! I turned 55 and I feel like this is going to be a great year.
